Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Sports Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of sports facilities and programs in Randburg. You will manage scheduling, budgets, staff, and event support to ensure an excellent experience for athletes, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate brings proactive leadership and strong organizational skills, with expertise in sports operations and safety, maintenance, and event logistics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in sports operations management or a similar large-scale operational role.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in budget management and operational planning.
• Knowledge of facility maintenance, safety protocols, and sports event logistics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of sports facilities, ensuring readiness for all scheduled activities.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource utilization.
• Lead and manage a team of operational staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate logistics for sporting events, training sessions, and other programs.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations, maintenance schedules, and operational procedures.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
