Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Rugby Development Officer in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on grassroots development, player pathways, and community engagement, leading coaching clinics and mentoring junior coaches to foster a positive rugby culture.

The ideal candidate will have extensive rugby coaching knowledge, recognized certifications, and strong program management skills to drive growth and safety across schools, clubs and community programs.

Qualifications

• Significant coaching/development experience in rugby.
• World Rugby Level 2 or higher coaching certification required.
• Proven ability in community engagement and program management.
• Willingness to travel and work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement rugby development strategies for multiple age groups.
• Lead coaching clinics and workshops for players and coaches.
• Identify and nurture rugby talent in the region.
• Promote participation, sportsmanship, and community outreach.
• Collaborate with schools, clubs and organisations to grow the game.
• Mentor junior coaches and ensure safety standards.
• Organise festivals, tournaments and events; manage program budgets.
