Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the East of Berkshire (Slough, Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead and Bracknell) invites applications for a full-time Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team. You will work within a professional, friendly team, delivering therapeutic programmes to adults with neurological and progressive conditions.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with patients, carers and the MDT.
• Good organisational and IT skills, including accurate record keeping and the use of digital systems to support clinical work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic programmes for a mixed dysphagia and communication caseload under supervision.
• Provide one-to-one and group therapy including Expiratory Muscle Strength Training.
• Shadow clinicians to develop knowledge; perform telephone reviews; discharge and refer as appropriate.
• Support progressive conditions with voice-banking and augmentative communication devices.
