Job summary

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support the Community Learning Disability Team in Solihull. You will assist SLTs in implementing therapy programmes for adults with learning disabilities, under supervision, and may travel to various settings including clients’ homes and day services.

The role requires experience with learning disabilities, planning and resource development, and driving with your own car.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with learning disabilities is essential.
• Ability to plan, run and record SLT sessions under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work with adults or groups as directed by the SLT
• Liaise with professionals, clients and carers
• Plan, run and record SLT sessions
• Plan delivery of an intervention programme written by the SLT
• Work independently across settings under supervision
• Maintain up-to-date clinical records
• Support AAC users alongside SLTs
• Write individual communication profiles with therapist supervision
• Attend case conferences and staff meetings
• Develop resources for group and individual work
