Mitchell Maguire Limited is seeking a Specification Sales Manager in Manchester/Stockport to promote roofing and waterproofing systems to architects, building surveyors and contractors. You will win specifications, manage live projects and drive new build opportunities across commercial, educational and public sectors.

The role requires a proven spec sales track record, strong communication skills and a proactive, self-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Proven specification field sales track record with architects or building surveyors.

• Ideally strong new build construction industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote roofing and waterproofing systems to architects and building surveyors.
• Win specifications and secure project approvals with main contractors.
• Manage relationships with roofing contractors and end users on key projects.
• Target a substantial project bank and pipeline across Manchester and Stockport.
• Provide product training and technical support to specifiers and contractors.
• Stay proactive in pursuing new build opportunities in commercial, schools and public buildings.

The role of the Specification Sales Manager Roofing & Waterproofing systems will involve:

• Field sales position promoting; felt roofing, green roofing systems, bitumen membranes, hot melt roofing, cold liquid applied waterproofing, waterproof roof coatings, single ply, structural waterproofing etc.
• Majority of time winning specifications with architects and building surveyors
• Remainder of time dealing with main contractors and approved roofing contractors
• Target responsible circa £600,000
• Inheriting a significant project bank which will help you to achieve next year’s sales target
• Inheriting a pipeline of live projects and projects going through the tender process
• Focusing on new build projects such as commercial projects, schools, public buildings, factories, blocks of flats etc.
• Product training will be provided

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Roofing & Waterproofing systems with:

• Proven specification field sales track record with architects or building surveyors
• Would consider someone from a contractor or similar building/product sales role with the following criteria: technically focussed / building envelope experience / route to market experience in specification
• Roofing experience is not essential (full product training provided)
• Open to building envelope associated products such as cladding, EWI, roof windows etc. as well as contractor backgrounds
• Prior experience with either local authorities, building surveyors of building owners/ end users may be beneficial
• Surveying knowledge/ experience may be useful
• Ideally strong new build construction industry experience
• Highly motivated, self-driven with a keen ambition to succeed and progress
• Must be a team player with a professional approach to working
• Excellent communication skills, as well as strong negotiating and influencing abilities
• Hungry to learn mentality
