Job description

Specification Sales Manager – Field Sales

OA is seeking a Specification Sales Manager to join our client, a respected designer and manufacturer of high-quality commercial and residential wallcoverings.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a field sales professional to join a friendly, ambitious team within a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing product specifications, driving sales to meet volume, revenue, and profit targets, nurturing existing accounts, and developing new business within their territory.

Location: London

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm. Remote working available, but role is field-based.

Salary: £60,000 basic salary + £8,000 commission, subject to hitting targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and specification targets
  • Implement company sales and marketing policies
  • Effective appointment setting and journey planning
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular contact and visits
  • Develop new business via cold calling, networking, and site visits
  • Deliver persuasive customer presentations
  • Address on-site technical challenges and make commercial decisions regarding pricing and terms

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum three years in the specification industry
  • Experience in interior finishes or related sectors preferred
  • Field sales experience
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and listening skills
  • Self-confident, results-oriented, independent, energetic
  • Ability to handle rejection
  • Motivated by providing excellent customer service, seeing projects through, and contributing to company strategy
