A part-time Specialist grade doctor position in Sexual Health at a leading healthcare trust, focusing on integrated sexual health services. The role offers opportunities for professional development in HIV Medicine and contraception, with a supportive team environment.
This post is a replacement substantive position. The appointment will be a part-time (2 PA) Specialist grade doctor in Sexual Health, with a potential for a whole-time post when the current post holder retires in April 2026, based at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
The appointee will work towards DFSRH and/or STIF intermediate, gaining experience in contraception and/or genitourinary medicine. Letters of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques and/or Subdermal Implant techniques are desirable, but training can be provided.
The role involves delivering clinics in integrated sexual health, including booked appointments and drop-in sessions (subject to COVID-19 restrictions), alongside sexual health nurses (advanced nurse practitioners and band 6 nurses working to PGD), healthcare assistants providing STI screening, and supporting clinicians and other doctors. There is no in-patient responsibility.
The appointee will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify clinical governance and training needs, contributing to local training programs for staff accreditation.
