We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry at Southfield. This is a replacement post, offering a chance to join a dynamic and dedicated team within the Mental Health & Learning Disability division.
Our Specialised Services offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and community services for adolescents and adults, and we are looking for a committed and skilled doctor to join our team. As part of the forensic services, you will be working across both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a range of responsibilities aimed at delivering high-quality care.
Inpatient Forensic Services include:
Ravenswood House: Adult medium secure hospital (63 beds, male only)
Southfield: Adult low secure hospital (28 beds, male and female)
Ashford: Adult low secure hospital for people with learning disabilities (male only)
Bluebird House: Adolescent medium secure hospital (20 beds, male and female)
Austen House: Adolescent low secure hospital
Community Forensic Services include:
Outpatient Personality Disorders & Pathfinder Service
Specialist Community Forensic Team
Community Forensic Learning Disability Team

Main duties of the job
As a Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry at Southfield, your main responsibilities will include:
Clinical Care & Patient Management: Provide psychiatric care for patients within inpatient forensic services, including both adult and adolescent populations. Collaborate with the consultant team to manage patient caseloads, conduct assessments, and develop individual care plans.
Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Participate in the established multidisciplinary team (MDT), working with psychology, nursing, social work, and other professionals. Contribute to case discussions, treatment planning, and holistic care delivery.
Clinical Supervision & Education: Provide supervision and teaching to junior doctors, supporting their development and contributing to clinical audits and research activities.
Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for patients and develop/uphold risk management plans to ensure patient safety.
