Job summary

Esteem North Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Peripatetic Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) to join our dedicated team. As a Peripatetic STLA, you will work across the Academy, providing high-quality support to pupils who may have additional needs or experience barriers to accessing education.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies identified in pupils' support plans.
• Work closely with teachers, families and other professionals to ensure appropriate support.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Monitor and communicate pupils' progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Support pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.

Esteem North Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient and compassionate Peripatetic Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) to join our dedicated team.

As a Peripatetic STLA, you will work across the Academy, providing high-quality support to pupils who may have additional needs or experience barriers to accessing education. You will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally, while supporting them to build confidence, independence and positive relationships.

About the role

The successful candidate will:

• Provide targeted, individualised support to pupils in line with their learning and pastoral needs.
• Work flexibly across the Academy and support pupils in a range of educational settings.
• Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement and participation.
• Support teaching and learning through one-to-one and small-group interventions.
• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Implement strategies and approaches identified within pupils' support plans.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, families and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Monitor and communicate pupils' progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Support pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, maintaining a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
