Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated SEND Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition across Anglesey. You will deliver tailored learning programmes and support learners with developing independence and life skills to re-engage with education.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEND learners, the ability to adapt teaching approaches, and a patient, nurturing manner. This role is part-time with flexible hours, starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable).
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Experience delivering personalised 1:1 tuition.
• Experience working with learners who may be disengaged from education.
• The ability to adapt lessons creatively to suit individual learning needs.
• A patient, understanding and nurturing approach.

SEND Tutor - Anglesey

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced SEND Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition and personalised support to children and young people across Anglesey.

We are looking for passionate tutors who are committed to helping learners with additional needs overcome barriers to education, build confidence and achieve their personal and academic goals.

The role involves delivering tailored learning programmes based on each learner's individual needs, helping them to re-engage with education and make meaningful progress. Tutors may also support learners with developing independence, confidence, life skills and preparing for their next steps.

Due to the nature of the students we support, applicants must have experience working with SEND learners and a strong understanding of adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of individual needs.

Position Details

• Location: Anglesey
• Position: Specialised SEND Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)
• Start Date: September 2026
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The successful SEND Tutor will have:

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable)
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND
• Experience delivering personalised 1:1 tuition
• Experience working with learners who may be disengaged from education
• The ability to adapt lessons creatively to suit individual learning needs
• A patient, understanding and nurturing approach

Experience supporting learners with additional needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, speech and language difficulties or other learning needs is highly desirable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, the successful SEND Tutor must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
