Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting experienced SEND Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition across Wirral. You will support learners with SEND, adapting lessons to each child’s needs and building confidence and progress.

This role offers flexible hours (5-15 per week), with start date September 2026, and ongoing opportunities. Applicants should have experience with SEND and a patient, engaging teaching style; QTS is desirable.

SEND Tutor - Wirral

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking experienced and compassionate SEND Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people across Wirral.

As a SEND Tutor, you'll work with learners who require additional educational support due to a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Every tuition programme is tailored to the individual, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's confidence, engagement and academic progress.

Position Details

• Location: Wirral
• Position: SEND Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)
• Start Date: September 2026
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND
• QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (desirable)
• Experience delivering personalised 1:1 tuition
• A patient, adaptable and engaging teaching style

Experience supporting learners with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD or speech and language needs is highly desirable.

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
• Provide two professional child-related references
