Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to work within Secondary SEND Resource Bases (HUBs) and Specialist Provisions across Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. You will support students with complex needs to access learning and develop social and emotional skills.

Ideal candidates have experience with autism, SEMH, Speech & Language Needs, or related SEND requirements, and hold Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualifications or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND and complex needs preferable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students with EHCPs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist students to access a modified curriculum and SEND interventions.
• Use visual supports and communication tools to support learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Promote independence and preparation for adulthood.
• Encourage attendance and positive engagement in school life.
