Job summary

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to work in Secondary SEND Resource Bases (HUBs) and Specialist Provisions across Walsall and surrounding areas. You will support students with complex needs, including Autism and SEMH, helping them access learning and develop social and emotional skills.

This role offers long-term, short-term and daily supply opportunities, with a focus on building confidence and independence.

Qualifications

Experience supporting secondary students with SEND.
Ability to implement SEND strategies and interventions.
Hold Right to Work in the UK and valid DBS.
Provide two professional references covering the last two years.

Responsibilities

Support students with EHCPs on a 1:1 basis and within small group settings
Assist students in accessing a modified and differentiated curriculum
Implement SEND-specific strategies and interventions, including visual supports, sensory regulation techniques, and communication tools
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals
Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
Promote independence, resilience, and preparation for adulthood
Encourage positive engagement, attendance, and participation in school life
