Job summary

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to work within Secondary SEND Resource Bases (HUBs) and Specialist Provisions across Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas.

These roles support secondary students with complex needs, helping them access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence for academic and personal success.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with autism, SEMH or complex SEND.
• Experience in school, SEND, care, youth work or support settings.
• Familiarity with behaviour support strategies and SEND interventions.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Desirable qualification in TA or related area.

Responsibilities

• Support students with EHCPs on 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist students in accessing a modified and differentiated curriculum.
• Implement SEND-specific strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Promote independence, resilience and preparation for adulthood.
• Encourage engagement, attendance and participation in school life.
