Job summary

Smile Education are recruiting for a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN primary school in Wolverhampton. You will support children with a range of SEND to access learning, develop independence and wellbeing in a welcoming, supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent), experience with SEND, and be a positive, proactive team player committed to making a difference in pupils' development and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent (UK).
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Experience in educational or specialist settings.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to supporting children.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to children with SEND.
• Support pupils 1:1 when required.
• Work with small groups and individuals to support learning.
• Help children access the curriculum at their level.
• Support children's social, emotional and communication development.
• Encourage independence and self-regulation.
• Use positive, consistent behaviour approaches.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Contribute to wellbeing and personal development.
• Get involved in school life and positive classroom contributions.
