Job summary

Teaching Personnel in the Bury area is seeking an experienced Specialist SEN Support Worker to support pupils across primary and secondary settings with SEN and SEMH needs. You will work with teachers and the wider team to promote academic, social and personal development.

The role requires 1:1 and small-group support, calm and consistent approaches, strong behaviour management, and collaboration with SENCOs and external professionals. A DBS and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support and effective boundaries.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and engage positively in school.
  • Developing positive relationships with pupils based on trust and boundaries.
  • Supporting emotional regulation, social development and behaviour management.
  • Following pupil support plans and safeguarding standards.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
