Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Specialist Progression Coach in Aberystwyth, covering surrounding towns, for a field-based role with remote and on-site working. This 15-month fixed-term contract offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will support participants with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or mental health challenges to overcome barriers to employment. You’ll provide personalised coaching, develop action plans, and connect people with essential services

Qualifications

  • You have experience coaching, motivating, or supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • You understand challenges faced by people with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or mental health conditions when seeking employment.
  • You can build trust quickly and develop effective relationships with participants, employers, colleagues, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored coaching and support throughout their employment journey.
  • Complete holistic needs assessments and develop personalised action plans that reflect individual goals, circumstances, and support needs.
  • Identify barriers to employment and connect participants with appropriate health, wellbeing, training, community, and specialist support services.
  • Deliver one-to-one employability coaching, including CV support, job searching, interview preparation, and confidence-building activities.
  • Build relationships with local employers to identify inclusive employment opportunities and support participants into suitable roles.
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing outcomes while ensuring services are delivered in line with contract requirements and quality standards.

As a Specialist Progression Coach in our Confident Futures team, you'll support unemployed participants with long-term health conditions, mental health conditions, or disabilities to overcome barriers to employment and move towards sustainable work. Through personalised coaching and tailored support, you'll help people rebuild confidence, develop employability skills, and take positive steps towards a brighter future.

By building trusted relationships and delivering person-centred support, you'll help individuals increase their independence, improve their wellbeing, and progress towards meaningful employment. What you'll do as a Specialist Progression Coach
  • Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored coaching and support throughout their employment journey.
  • Complete holistic needs assessments and develop personalised action plans that reflect individual goals, circumstances, and support needs.
  • Identify barriers to employment and connect participants with appropriate health, wellbeing, training, community, and specialist support services.

  • You're highly organised, able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively, and work independently when needed.
  • You have strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping people grow, gain confidence, and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
