Job summary

Serco Group plc is hiring a Progression Job Coach to support people on the Restart Scheme from engagement to sustained employment. You will build personalised action plans, deliver coaching and practical employability support, and work with employers to identify opportunities that help participants progress into lasting work.

Based in Longbridge, the role is full-time, perm, 37.5 hours per week, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding, record-keeping and compliance while contributing to community

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust.
  • Experience in a target-driven or performance-focused environment.
  • Excellent organisation and time management with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of participants, guiding through Restart journey to sustained employment.
  • Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans.
  • Provide practical employability support including CV writing, applications and interview prep.
  • Build trust-based relationships and motivate participants to achieve goals.
  • Work with employers and internal teams to identify opportunities and match to roles.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with contract requirements.

As a Progression Job Coach in our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team, you'll support people on the Restart Scheme to overcome barriers to employment, build confidence, and move into sustainable work. Your work has purpose, helping individuals achieve positive outcomes while creating a positive impact on communities.

Every day, you'll work closely with participants to understand their goals, identify support needs, and create personalised action plans. Through coaching, guidance, and practical employability support, you'll help people develop the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to secure long‑term employment. Our work touches lives, and you'll play a key role in helping people build a brighter future while strengthening trust and opportunity within local communities.

What you'll do as a Progression Job Coach
  • Manage a caseload of participants, guiding them through the full Restart journey from engagement through to sustained employment

Experience in coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education
  • A genuine passion for helping people succeed and making a positive difference in communities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others
  • Experience working in a target-driven or performance-focused environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate, high-quality records
  • Good understanding of the Welsh language
