Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Esher is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties and autism at a specialist SEN satellite site.

You will plan personalised lessons and adapt teaching to each child's abilities, creating a safe, structured environment that promotes learning and development. The role requires QTS or equivalent, prior SEN experience, and excellent communication, organisation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in a specialist SEN setting or with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
• Experience adapting teaching methods to individual communication and sensory needs.
• Calm, patient, flexible and resilient approach.
• Ability to plan creative, accessible and meaningful learning experiences.
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to each pupil.
• Support children with SLD, Autism and complex needs.
• Adapt curriculum, resources and teaching strategies for accessibility.
• Develop pupils' communication, social interaction and sensory skills.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour through consistent support.
• Use appropriate communication methods and sensory strategies to promote participation.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to learning plans and EHCP targets.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Work with teaching assistants, therapists and the SEN team.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
