Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEN setting in Esher, supporting pupils with SLD, Autism and complex needs.

Role is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:45am-3:15pm; 1:1 and small-group support; assist with personal care as required; focus on communication and sensory needs; work closely with teachers.

All applicants require suitable qualifications and training; DBS checks; safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Confident SEN experience is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning difficulties.
• Comfortable supporting with personal care.
• Understanding of communication and sensory needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Confident building positive relationships with pupils.
• Full-time availability.

Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged pupils with SLD, Autism and complex needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support pupils with communication, learning and sensory needs.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Encourage independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
