Spire St Anthony's Hospital are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician with a passion for delivering expert physiotherapy care to patients with complex cardiothoracic, respiratory, and critical care needs.

Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients across cardiothoracic services, including those requiring Level 3 critical care support. You will play a key role in the management of critically ill patients, contributing to high standards of patient care throughout their recovery journey.

Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of cardiothoracic and critically ill patients.
• Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex respiratory conditions.
• Support the management of patients requiring Level 3 critical care, including mechanically ventilated patients.
• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes and support safe, effective care delivery.
• Assess and manage patients with advanced airway and complex respiratory care requirements.
• Lead and contribute to evidence-based rehabilitation programmes for critically ill patients.
• Participate in the respiratory on‑call rota, providing expert out-of-hours support and ensuring continuity of care.

Who we are looking for

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration with no restrictions or conditions.
• Post-registration experience within cardiothoracic and critical care physiotherapy.
• Experience managing critically ill patients within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
• Demonstrable expertise in the treatment of mechanically ventilated patients.
• Advanced respiratory physiotherapy skills, including management of complex respiratory conditions.
• Experience in difficult airway management and specialist respiratory care.
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and decision‑making skills.
• A commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working abilities.
• Willingness to participate in the respiratory on‑call rota.
