The Children's Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to deliver high quality, evidence-based therapy across our organisation, supporting children with speech, language, communication and feeding needs, including those with a tracheostomy.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, embedded in Rehabilitation Therapy Service, delivering training and family-centered interventions with occasional evening and weekend work as required.

Qualifications

• Provide high quality, evidence based and equitable speech and language therapy interventions for children and young people attended by The Children's Trust.
• Devise suitable individual plans that fit within the child’s daily routine and monitor outcomes.
• Involve families in the rehabilitation process and hand over practical skills.
• Autonomous practitioner with responsibility for assessment, treatment and planning for a caseload.
• Be a key point of support for the SLT and MDT teams and provide training.
• Liaise with medical staff and attend clinics as required.
• Refer appropriate children for instrumental assessment (e.g., videofluoroscopy) as needed.
• Contribute to child related reports and audit/research outputs.
• Utilise outcomes measures and plan discharge/transition when appropriate.
• Provide clinical cover during staff shortages and work flexible hours.

Responsabilités

• Develop individual therapy plans fitting daily routines with monitoring and adjustment.
• Engage families in day-to-day therapy and care handovers.
• Collaborate within MDT for integrated care across settings.
• Attend clinics with the child and liaise with medical staff as required.
• Contribute to referrals and off-site assessments around the UK.
• Generate child related reports and support audits and research.
• Deliver training across services within The Children’s Trust and beyond.
