Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our SEND School and Outreach, based in Warwickshire's specialist schools. The post-holder will work alongside other SLT colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team, with opportunities to provide outreach to other educational provisions.

Dysphagia caseload is desirable. Location is in Warwickshire with staff preferences considered; development of leadership and clinical skills is

Qualifications

• The post-holder should have enthusiasm for and experience of working with children with Speech, Language and Communication needs.
• The role requires leadership alongside clinical skills development.
• Experience of supervision and CPD access is provided.
• Dysphagia caseload is desirable and training can be undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and manage the speech, language and communication needs of children attending special schools.
• Deliver training to parents, school staff and other professionals.
• Collaborate with the lead SLT for the designated school and participate in team meetings.
• Provide potential outreach services to other educational provisions.

Education

Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent

Post Basic Dysphagia qualification

Health Professionals Council Registration

Specialist short courses in paediatric communication disorders
