Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support children with Speech, Language and Communication needs in mainstream schools in Warwickshire. The role involves delivering treatment from written plans, sharing skills with parents and professionals, and disseminating resources.

The post requires travel between schools and working as part of a supportive SALT team, including supervision of less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• IT skills are required for creating resources and documenting sessions.
• GCSE English and Maths at minimum level; Foundation Degree in health/social care preferred.
• Care Certificate or willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Speech and Language Therapists delivering services to children.
• Organise and maintain therapy resources within the department.
• Supervise less experienced staff and assist in training packages.
• Travel independently to multiple schools to deliver services.
