Job summary

Speech and Language UK's Meath School in Chertsey, Surrey, is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to support pupils with SEND through tailored therapy plans within a school-based MDT.

The role involves independent caseload management, reporting, and contributing to annual reviews. You will work closely with teachers, families and the broader MDT to promote independence and wellbeing in a supportive special school environment.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered occupational therapist with UK qualification.
• Experience in paediatrics and MDTs.
• Strong clinical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Experience in school settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise an independent paediatric occupational therapy caseload within a specialist school setting.
• Assess pupils’ occupational therapy needs and deliver tailored intervention programmes linked to EHCP outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the multi-disciplinary team to support pupils’ development and independence.
• Implement and monitor evidence-based therapeutic strategies, including sensory and functional support interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, prepare progress reports, and contribute to annual reviews and care planning.
• Contribute to service development, staff training, and ongoing professional development within the occupational therapy team.
