Job summary

First Bridge School in Chelsea, London, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team supporting children aged 2 to 11 with autism and complex developmental needs.

The role embeds therapy within the school day, delivering evidence-based assessments and interventions, collaborating with teachers, speech and language therapists, and behaviour specialists to support learning, communication and independence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience with paediatric SEND settings and autism.
• Knowledge of sensory processing assessment and intervention.
• Understanding of SEND and EHCP processes.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct OT assessments and deliver interventions for pupils with autism and sensory processing difficulties.
• Develop sensory strategies, sensory diets, and environmental adaptations.
• Assess and support sensory, motor, daily living skills.
• Collaborate with Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Behaviour Specialists and classroom staff to embed therapy.
• Contribute to EHCP assessments and annual reviews with OT reports.
• Provide staff training and communicate with parents regarding pupil progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and follow safeguarding procedures.
