Role Summary
A new opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Rheumatology Nurse to join our dedicated Multidisciplinary Rheumatology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role will be based at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstable, and the post holder will work within the acute hospital and cover community clinics across North Devon.

The Rheumatology service currently runs multiple outpatient clinics and provides an extensive service to Rheumatology patients in the South West. The service offers Consultant-led and Nurse-led clinics in North Devon District Hospital and secondary care settings such as South Molton & Bideford Hospitals.
The successful post holder would ideally have several years of Rheumatology experience and a special interest in supporting and developing Rheumatological Nursing services. They will be able to run patient clinics independently, providing high-quality evidence-based care. They will be responsible for their own caseload and workload within the designated clinical areas, assessing and treating patients daily without direct guidance from their line manager.
You will work closely with all members of the MDT and assist the Band 7 Rheumatology Nurse in service development.
We would consider a Band 5 nurse with a specific interest in rheumatology, willing to learn and progress to Band 6. Academic qualifications will be reviewed case by case; at least 2 years of post-qualification practice experience is preferred.
