Join the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as a Specialist Nurse with cardiology experience in our Nuclear Medicine team. Training will be provided in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine. You will lead the stress component of our Nuclear Cardiology service and support general Nuclear Medicine activities, with potential rotation to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The department features advanced gamma cameras, a non-imaging service, radiopharmacy, and an expanding radiotherapy service. We are research-active, university-linked, and an accredited training center. Leicester offers vibrant, multicultural living with excellent transport links.

Main duties
  • Lead the non-medic-led cardiac stress service.
  • Ensure safe use of radioactive materials according to local protocols.

Detailed job responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and maintain high professional standards.
  • Perform and develop the stress myocardial perfusion service.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacological stress agents following protocols.
  • Evaluate referrals, assess patient suitability, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and develop clinical procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor capacity, demand, and safety in the stress service.
  • Support training and development of staff in nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Maintain ILS certification and provide ECG training.
  • Report incidents and maintain equipment safety.
  • Support departmental security and perform other duties as needed.
