Department: Palliative Care / Cancer Centre

Part-time 15 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

Band 7: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum pro rata.

This leadership role involves clinical assessment and support of patients, their families, and carers; providing guidance and support to senior nursing and medical staff in care and treatment decisions. The ideal candidate will be an expert in palliative care, with clinical credibility and the ability to establish close working relationships with senior staff. The post requires collaboration with the cancer service team and others to meet patients’ specialist palliative care needs.

The candidate should demonstrate:

1. High-level clinical knowledge and expertise in palliative and end-of-life care.
2. Understanding of ethical, moral, and legal issues in palliative care, including decisions to withdraw treatment.
3. Advanced communication skills with patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
4. Experience in designing and delivering educational programs, conducting audits, and other related tasks.
