Person specification
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife
- Registered Health Visitor (SCPHN)
- Current NMC registration
- Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training.
Desirable criteria
- Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards
Experience
Essential criteria
- Health visiting experience in managing complex and safeguarding situations.
- Ability to coordinate health promotion initiatives aligned with local and national health improvement targets.
- Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and inter-agency teams.
- Experience in organizing and managing own workload and that of others.
- Experience in assessing, planning, and implementing care programmes and writing care plans.
- Experience of evidence-based care practices.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of recent NHS policy developments.
- Understanding of current health and social care agendas relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of current health legislation, including the Change for Children agenda and Children’s Plan.
- Current knowledge of child protection issues.
Key Attributes
Essential criteria
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable criteria
- Proficiency in IT skills relevant to the role.
