NHS Western Isles is seeking a Specialist Community Public Health School Nurse to provide essential nursing services for vulnerable school-aged children. This permanent Band 6 role involves working closely with children, families, and partner agencies to ensure accessible, person-centred care. The role emphasizes prevention and early support and requires applicants to be registered nurses with relevant qualifications.
Band 6 £41,608 - £50,702 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349 per annum
37 hours per week

The post holder will provide an accessible, person-centred, effective school nursing service for vulnerable school-aged children identified as being at risk and requiring additional support. This will be achieved by working in partnership with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies.
A focus on prevention, early intervention, and support will prevail, concentrating on the ten priority areas under themes of vulnerable children and families, mental health and wellbeing, and risk-taking behaviors.
The post holder will work within a team but will be responsible for a caseload and function as an autonomous practitioner through in-depth knowledge, expertise, experience, and proficiency.
Applications are invited from first-level registered nurses with a Specialist Community Public Health qualification.
Applicants must own a car and possess a full UK driving licence.
