NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde seeks a Public Protection Nurse Advisor to enhance its Public Protection Service. We offer full or part-time hours, with a Monday to Friday shift pattern. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Protection Nurse Advisor to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Public Protection Service. This role involves working within a board-wide team to promote a high-quality, safe, and effective public protection service, supporting the delivery of the NHS GGC Public Protection Strategy, 'Safeguarding It Matters to Us'.
The Public Protection Service provides expert advice, support, and guidance on Public Protection matters. The post holder will offer clinical leadership, specialist advice, and case supervision to staff, working collaboratively across professions and agencies, making evidence-based decisions.
The team includes Chief Nurse and Head of Public Protection, Lead Nurses for Child and Adult Support and Protection, a Lead Pediatrician for Child Protection, Public Protection Medical Lead, and administrative staff. The team is based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, with training and clinical supervision across NHS GGC sites.
Requirements include being a Registered Nurse or Midwife with a first-level degree, at least five years of post-qualification experience, and evidence of postgraduate master's level study. Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification in Child Protection and/or Adult Support and Protection or relevant experience. Substantial experience working with children, young people, families, or vulnerable adults, along with knowledge of relevant policies and legislation, is essential.
Willingness to undertake further study in this area is encouraged.
