The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday and is fixed term for 12 months.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to work within the West of Scotland amyloid multi-disciplinary team for one year in the first instance. The ANP/CNS will lead coordination and delivery of improved disease awareness, operational capabilities and patient-focused services. The aim is to establish a coordinated clinical pathway through multi-disciplinary teams ensuring timely access to diagnostics and treatments while addressing unmet needs in evaluation, research and quality improvement.
The amyloidosis service is a new service and this role will sit within the Cardiology department (South Sector Medicine). The multi-disciplinary team includes Cardiology, Heart Failure Liaison service, Neurology, Rheumatology, Clinical Genetics and Pathology. There are established links with other West of Scotland Health boards and the National Amyloidosis Centre, Royal Free Hospital, London.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is flexible, hardworking and professional to support amyloid education across the MDT network to improve referral processes, reduce variation between hospitals for patients entering the clinical pathway, improve disease awareness amongst clinicians, ensure organisational readiness for regional MDTs, and collect outcome data. The individual will be expected to provide an evaluation of the service after one year along side the MDT team.
The post holder will have the ability to work across role and geographical boundaries, providing clinical care for patients with amyloidosis. The post holder must have the experience of working in the community or acute hospital setting is desirable.
It is essential that you are a Registered General Nurse on the NMC register. Applicants should have or be working towards an appropriate Masters level qualification.
