Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Wrexham is seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 educational support for children and young people with additional learning needs. You will adapt your teaching to each learner, helping them overcome barriers and build confidence.

This role suits teachers, tutors or mentors who enjoy working with young people and creating a supportive learning environment. Hours range 5-15 per week, starting September 2026, ongoing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring or mentoring.
• QTS or equivalent qualification desirable.
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs.
• A patient, adaptable and learner-centred approach.

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with children and young people who require additional support with their education.

The successful candidate will adapt their teaching to suit the individual learner, helping them overcome barriers to education, develop confidence and make positive progress.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience in teaching, tutoring or mentoring
• QTS or equivalent qualification desirable

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
