Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring Special Needs Teaching Assistant for flexible supply work across South Birmingham primary schools. Role involves supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH, and other needs in 1:1 and small group settings.

You will help deliver engaging lessons, support pupils to access learning and meet individual targets while promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing. DBS Enhanced is often required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in schools, nurseries, care or similar settings.
  • Ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils to access learning and achieve targets.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist with personal care where required.

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work across South Birmingham primary schools?


Tradewind Recruitment is seeking caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We work with a variety of welcoming primary schools that require both short-term and long-term supply support.


The Role


  • Supporting children with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Helping pupils to access learning and achieve their individual targets

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Supporting personal care where required


The Ideal Candidate


  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school, nursery, care, or support setting

  • A patient, nurturing, and positive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
