Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assisting with academic, social and emotional development, and helping pupils access learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role offers ongoing training, a supportive team, and opportunities for long-term and permanent positions.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months experience working in an SEN setting or with children with additional needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrates a patient, caring and resilient nature.
  • Ability to stay calm and adapt to individual pupil needs under pressure.
  • Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (Update Service or willingness to obtain).

Overview

Aspire are currently recruiting for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Assist pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Implement individual education and behaviour support plans.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
  • Record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Essential Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 months' experience working in an SEN setting or supporting children with additional needs.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring and resilient nature.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to individual pupil needs.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, or other SEN-related training.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
