Job summary

CER Education is expanding our team of Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a wide range of needs across Welwyn. You will work in partnership schools, supporting students with PMLD, MLD and complex learning difficulties. September 2026 starts available, with full guidance and induction.

Experience in UK schools and strong communication are valued, with flexible temporary positions and competitive daily pay on offer.

  • Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom learning and adapt activities in line with pupils’ EHCPs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of special needs.
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments with confidence and resilience.
  • Use a variety of communication methods, strategies, and resources to enhance engagement.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and other support staff to share best practice.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant –Welwyn

£95–£115 per day | Flexible Temporary Positions |September 2026 Starts Available

CER Education are expanding our team of dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to support a range of partnership schools across Welwyn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact supporting pupils with a wide variety of special educational needs, including PMLD, MLD, and complex learning difficulties.

Whether you’re an experienced SEN practitioner or an Early Career Teaching Assistant, we have a range of roles available — with full support to help you thrive in the classroom.

About the Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support students across the curriculum, working closely with teachers and SEN teams to deliver meaningful and personalised learning. You will have the opportunity to work in diverse settings, build new skills, and shape the educational experience of pupils who need your support the most.

Key Responsibilities
