Empowering Learning in Nottingham is seeking a caring teaching assistant to join a special needs school team. The role starts in September and runs through the new academic year, with involvement in classroom duties and off-site activities.

You will support the lead teacher, assist students with disabilities including autism, help with daily tasks and personal care, and contribute to creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment that promotes progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, including those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies is desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude when working with children.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and manage challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of toddler care and development is a Plus.
