Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
GSL Education are working with an alternative provision in Newton Abbot who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The school caters for children and young adults aged 11-16 with SEMH. This includes those who have Autism, ADHD and present challenging behaviours associated with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for compassionate and patient Teaching Assistants to join the school on a full time, long term basis. We are looking for someone with an adaptable approach along with a great sense of humour and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Requirements:
· Experience supporting children with SEND (professionally or personally)
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and their families
· A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude toward supporting children with additional needs
· A collaborative approach to working alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals
· Be available asap on a full-time basis
