Job summary

Academics is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Leighton Buzzard and surrounding areas. You'll provide 1:1 and small-group support for children with diverse needs, and work with teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Experience with SEN is desirable, graduates and those from care/youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Flexible daily supply and short-term placements across local primary schools offer valuable experience in

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting SEN is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in schools, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar settings will be considered.

Flexible SEN Opportunities - Daily Supply & Short-Term Placements

Academics are expanding our SEN supply team across Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools.

We have a growing number of opportunities available for daily supply and short-term cover, making this an ideal role for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, care workers, youth workers or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working with children who have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism / ASC
  • SEMH
  • ADHD
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • Learning difficulties
  • Complex additional needs

You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive, nurturing and positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.

What you'll be doing:

What we're looking for:

  • Someone who is confident supporting children with a range of needs
  • The flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
  • Graduates with an interest in education, SEN, psychology or child development are encouraged to apply
