Job summary

TipTopJob in London is seeking an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Southfields on a full-time basis from October. You will work in the Reception team supporting pupils with a range of SEN, delivering 1:1 and small group support to help access learning and develop confidence.

The role focuses on early years activities, helping children with communication, social interaction and emotional development, and encouraging independence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
• Experience in EYFS/Reception settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for Reception aged children.

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Southfields are looking for an experienced and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team on a full:time basis from October.

The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will work with Reception:aged children with a variety of special educational needs, providing both individual and small:group support to help pupils access learning, develop their communication and build confidence and independence.

Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential for this position.

The Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role

• Support Reception:aged children with a range of SEN and additional needs.
• Provide a mixture of 1:1 and small:group support.
• Help children access learning and play:based EYFS activities.
• Support childrens communication, social interaction and emotional development.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement.
• Adapt activities and resources according to individual needs.
• Support behaviour and emotional regulation where required.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other support staff.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment.
• Assist with childrens personal care where required.

The Ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant

• Previous Experience Supporting Children With SEN Is Essential.
• Experience within EYFS, Reception or an Early Years setting would be highly desirable.
• Confident supporting children with a variety of additional needs.
• Patient, calm and nurturing in their approach.
• Comfortable providing individualised support according to each childs needs.
• Reliable and able to commit to a full:time position from October.
• Passionate about helping children with SEND make progress.
