Job summary

Aura Education Services is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special needs in Liverpool. The role involves 1-1 support, small group work, and assisting with whole-class activities to help every student thrive.

You will work closely with teachers to tailor learning activities, adapt materials, and monitor progress while fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Previous experience and a patient, empathetic approach are valued.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant with focus on primary and special needs support.
• Familiarity with various special needs conditions and effective strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and other staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to special needs students, including 1-1 and small groups.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement effective strategies.
• Assist in planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials for diverse learning styles.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Implement behaviour management strategies.
• Support students with personal care and mobility if required.
• Communicate with parents and staff regarding progress.
