Job summary

Teach in Liverpool is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across mainstream and specialist settings. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, helping students reach their personal learning goals within a nurturing environment.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, implement tailored activities, promote positive behaviour and safeguarding compliance, and contribute to inclusive classrooms.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• Calm, patient and caring approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident working as part of a team.
• Flexible and proactive attitude.
• Commitment to helping every child reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils.
• Assist children with SEN including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs.
• Encourage learning and help pupils meet goals.
• Work with teachers to deliver tailored activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Support EHCP pupils where appropriate.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies.
