Job summary

Aura Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Needs in a prominent Liverpool primary SEND school for the full academic year. You will provide one-to-one support, help implement IEPs, and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Experience with autism is essential, along with strong communication and teamwork to collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and families. A genuine passion for helping children to develop confidence and skills is required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supporting children with Special Needs, with a particular focus on autism spectrum disorder.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to meet each student's unique requirements.
  • Genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring IEPs are met.
  • Assisting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implementing strategies to help students develop communication, social, and academic skills.
  • Offering emotional support to children to build confidence and independence.
  • Collaborating with SENCO to assess, plan, and monitor progress.
