Job summary

Aura Education is recruiting for a prominent primary SEND school in Liverpool to join their team for the entire academic year. The role involves supporting children with Special Needs, particularly autism, in a full-time capacity.

You will work one-to-one with students, assist teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with the SENCO to monitor progress and adapt strategies to individual needs.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring IEPs are met.

Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant specializing in Special Needs, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing oneon-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individualized education plans (IEPs) are met.
  • Assisting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implementing strategies to help students develop their communication, social, and academic skills.
  • Offering emotional support to children, helping them build confidence and independence.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to assess, plan, and monitor the progress of students.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven experience in supporting children with Special Needs, with a particular focus on autism spectrum disorder.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with working in a Special Educational Needs environment.
