Job summary

Education Authority in Derry/Londonderry is seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs. The role involves assisting in a Specialist Provision class, implementing Education/Care Plans, and promoting pupil participation in the curriculum.

You will work under the direction of the class teacher and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment while promoting independence and inclusion within the school community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the support and care of pupil(s) with special educational needs.
• Assist pupil(s) in moving around school and on transport.
• Assist with documentation and production of resources.
• Provide supervision and administer prescribed medicines when needed.
• Support implementation of behavioural management programmes as directed.
• Contribute to inclusion of pupil(s) in mainstream schools.
