Job summary

Supply Desk in the Lymington area is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant for a full-time role at a Special Needs School supporting students aged 11-19 with autism and ADHD. You will help with daily routines, transport to activities, and classroom support starting September 2026.

The role emphasises safeguarding, DBS checks, and collaboration with teaching staff and therapists to implement tailored plans. On-site parking is available and the position offers a competitive daily rate.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care assistant or similar role within education or healthcare.
  • Understanding of autism, ADHD and sensory/behavioural needs.
  • Patient, empathetic and supportive approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication with students, staff and parents.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
  • An enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this process if required).

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised care for those with Autism including managing emotions.
  • Support students with daily routines, including homework, transporting children to activities and supervising with wake up and bedtime routines.
  • Assist students in engaging with educational and social activities.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment tailored to students sensory and emotional needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement individualized learning and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and report concerns to the appropriate staff members.
