Job summary

Education Authority in Northern Ireland invites applications for a Teacher - Post-Primary. You will deliver high-quality lessons, plan and prepare courses, assess pupil progress and report outcomes, and contribute to safeguarding and pastoral care.

Working under the Principal, you will fulfil professional duties, participate in staff development and ensure compliance with the Teachers' Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987 and related schedules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing courses and lessons
• Teaching pupils according to their educational needs, including setting and marking work
• Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil development and attainment
• Promoting the general progress and well-being of pupils
• Providing advice and guidance to pupils on education and future careers
• Communicating with parents and other bodies outside the school
• Participating in meetings for curriculum, pastoral arrangements and administration
• Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments and references
• Participating in staff development and performance review
• Advising and cooperating with the Principal and other teachers on courses of study and teaching materials
• Managing and coordinating the work of other teachers and contributing to curriculum development
• Understanding attendance, discipline and health and safety requirements per school policies
• Supervising and supporting pupils during school activities and examinations
• Being available for work across the school as required and ensuring appropriate break times
