AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited is seeking a Ground Systems Test Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth/Stevenage, with hybrid working options. You will test spacecraft ground control software and systems, validate performance, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.

You will develop and execute integration and test plans, maintain test facilities, and collaborate across software, systems, and mission operations teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage during critical mission phases.

Qualifications

• Experience in integration and validation of complex systems, preferably in space/aerospace.
• Strong understanding of SCC architectures and functionalities.
• Proficiency with Red Hat and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Windchill, SVN, Git.
• Familiarity with JIRA.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document integration plans for Spacecraft Ground Control software and systems.
• Develop, execute, and document test plans for Spacecraft Control Centre software and systems.
• Administer and maintain SRM test facilities and computer systems.
• Conduct functional, performance, integration, and regression testing of SCC components (flight software, ground software, HIL).
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues in defect trackers.
• Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and mission operations teams to ensure coverage.
• Participate in formal reviews/audits of test documentation and results.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Provide technical expertise during critical mission phases, including launch and in-orbit operations.
• Ensure testing activities comply with Airbus DS quality standards and regulations.
