Job summary

AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop and maintain automated test systems for space equipment. The role focuses on automating tests of instruments, DUTs and control interfaces using Python and Java within a team of engineers.

You will contribute to test automation pipelines, data acquisition and equipment testing for satellites and related programs, with opportunities for professional growth and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience testing instruments, systems, software and devices (DUT/EUT/UUT).
• Automation experience with Python and Java.
• Background in Space, Automotive, Scientific, Aerospace or similar fields.
• Strong focus on test system stability and robust error handling for automated software.
• Familiar with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchBase, CouchDB).
• Knowledge of software design patterns and system architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and maintain clean, scalable test automation software in Python and Java.
• Develop automated routines for instrument control, DUT sequencing, data acquisition, and result file generation for RF and Digital space equipment testing.
• Author and maintain architectural blueprints, technical specs, API documentation, and system design guidelines.
• Establish best practices for code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and technical debt management.
• Support architectural evolution of future high-performance engineering test platforms.
